Run by Owner Manager, Natalie Wood, the salon prides itself on providing the best possible grooming and caring experience to the cat or dog that just needs to look its best.

Natalie (aka Nat) started grooming at the age of 16 and also studied animal care at college, whilst studying how to groom dogs to an outstanding standard.

We can offer a "puppy socialization groom" which can last about an hour depending on the puppy and its coat, It is part of a full makeover so all the essentials are done like hygiene, nails ears and eyes cleaned but instead of a full trim I just trim feet face and bum - all the parts that can cause problems if not done at a young age and if not used to being handled by the groomer in these areas. This service is at a discounted rate and the puppy should be between the age of 14 weeks (or when the vet has given them the ok to go outside on the lead) and 24 weeks old.

Handstripped breeds such as border terriers should be groomed ideally every 2 - 3 months. Long haired breeds such as lhasa apso, shihtzu, poodles bichons etc should be groomed ideally 6 - 8 weeks depending on thickness of the coat and required style.

Short-haired breeds such as labradors, boxers, bulldogs etc can be groomed as and when, as they don't need grooming to the same rigorous time scales as other breeds, but ideally should be groomed every 3 months

Nail trimming should be done regularly, as the quick (vein inside the nail), if not done regularly can cause the pet discomfort, also the hair in-between the toes and pads needs cleaning out on a regular basis so there is not a build up of dirt and mats which can cause discomfort.

If you have a special shampoo from your vet then no problem just bring in the shampoo and I can use that one for you. If not and your dog does have irritated skin then a first aid shampoo which can help ease the irritation will be used.
